If you're able to scan a QR code in Safe Mode without issue, then this suggests that a third party app is limiting you in some way, in which case I recommend removing any recently installed apps to address this. I guess you dont have onActivityResult in your code and that is why you cant capture and return any result. Safe Mode temporarily disables third party apps, and helps to determine if any issues are stemming from an external source. Which app are you using to access the QR scanner?
